IgE Explained

Our range of allergy testing options currently uses Allergyvet™ assay technology which provides veterinary practitioners with the exceptional in vitro serological allergy testing.

The Allergyvet™ assay technology offers a superior level of accuracy during testing and reduces the number of false positive and false negatives experienced by some other serological tests.

The diagram highlights the differences between polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies and the allergen antibodies are bound to the epsilon chain.

We continue not to offer food testing for very good reasons. In man the relationship between foods and skin disease is well documented. This is not the case in animals. Whilst undoubtedly some foods can be involved with cutaneous lesions there is still no evidence that these are IgE mediated or that serological testing can identify specific causal foods. Please read the section on food testing in our Allergy Brochure which is downloadable in the Literature Resources section on this website.
